Abstract

Purpose. To develop acuity gratings based on Hermite basis fuctions, thereby enabling human contrast sensitivity to be tested bysrimuli that are of finite extent. Method. We obtained the contrast sensitivity function: for theae targets using a teupural two-aHcrnat ive forced-choice method. Results. We modelled the new contrast sensitivity funct ions using the same two-parameter integral operator we used to rodel the CSFs obtained with Carhor gratings. These Herinite functions are thr c Lgenf une t ions of our operator.
