Abstract

A 135-170-GHz circularly-polarized antenna for rotateable contactless millimeter-wave (mm-wave) interconnects is designed and analyzed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time circularly polarized antennas with wide bandwidth are proposed for mm-wave wireless interconnects. To evaluate the performance of the proposed antennas for wireless mm-wave interconnects, time and frequency domain performance metrics such as fidelity factor and group delay are investigated. Results demonstrate that the proposed antennas feature fidelity factors of more than 98.94% and a linear variation of transmission coefficients phases with group delay variations less than 0.01 ns.
