Atención al paciente politraumatizado

It becomes more and more often that a doctor has to face traumatic injuries. The cases of death caused by those injuries occupy the forth place. The use of motor vehicles has helped to increase the number of deaths by accidents.The profile of the population in risk is found in young victims who are in fulltime labor activity or idleness, a faithful reflexion of the hyperactivity which is typical for this age. Talking about hospitalization, the traumatic pathology is from 10 to 15 % of diagnosis in males and between 5 and 8 % in females. This review relates the most important aspects referring to the mecanism of the production of the trauma, the treatment, which has to be given to the injured person during the prehospitalization phase as well as during the hospitalization phase followed by the primary and secondary general valuation which every patient has to be submitted to when he or she suffers from a traumatism.
