Abstract

The developments and the viability of the aluminum alloy were illustrated as a high strength casting alloy. Each hot crack test casting was examined and given a numerical hot crack number. By decreasing the grain size in 206 aluminum, the alloy retained its high strength material properties while reducing its susceptibility to hot cracking.
