Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of 31 successful hybrid motor hot-fires with PolyMethyl-MethAcrylate (PMMA) and gaseous oxygen. Theses tests represent a subset of the total number of successful tests that have been completed over the last several years in the Hybrid Test Facility at JPL. Fuel characterization tests are presented showing the potential variability of chemical and mechanical properties for commercially available PMMA. The dependence of calculated regression rate coefficients on data reduction technique is also shown, and the importance of choosing a data-processing methodology that is consistent with a chosen model form is highlighted in this work.
