Abstract

The Mold Fabrication Process Planner (MFPP) is an expert system that has been developed from a formal methodology for mold making. The component work orders detail how to make the parts, the material and machines required, and provides an estimate for time and cost. The MFPP consists of a component process planner that interacts with an inventory manager and a material removal process planner.
