Abstract

In this paper we investigate bounds on the two dimensional function f(x, y), which can be expressed as a linear combination of an orthogonal set of functions{ [qnm(x, y)} in the mean. Each function qnm(x, y) has the property of being separable, that is, qnm(x,y)=qn(x)qm(y). (1) Each of this functions is band limited. Effective bandwidth expressions are derived based on a given error criterion.
