Abstract
Children with medical complexity (CMC), defined as children aged 21 or younger with at least three medical conditions, require specialized care for a range of health challenges. As technology continues to shape both education and healthcare, this study addresses the role of technology in the two systems. Our study explored the role of technology in CMC care, focusing on its impact on communication and coordination among schools, parents, and healthcare providers. We interviewed 12 community caregivers from the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN), discussing challenges such as virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for improved technological solutions. We used inductive thematic analysis to generate themes. The findings highlight key areas where technology can enhance care coordination and support the educational needs of CMC.
