Abstract

With the rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across various industries, it is crucial to prepare pre-college students with foundational AI knowledge. This study will focus on the impact of interactive summer AI workshops and explore factors that contribute to enriching students' readiness for higher education and future careers in technologically advanced and AI driven world. The workshop will be designed to provide hands-on experiences with AI concepts, programming, and real-world applications, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Students can actively engage in AI-driven activities tailored to their skill levels by employing a project-based learning approach, and this enhances their confidence and technical literacy. Based on the author's previous pre-college summer workshops activities, it can be inferred that such immersive experiences significantly enhance students' preparedness, bridging the gap between secondary education and STEM-focused college programs. This study highlights the pedagogical benefits, curriculum design, and long-term impact of AI workshops, emphasizing their role in cultivating the next generation of AI-literate professionals.
