Abstract
The data on the measurement of produced by a low-frequency field level and pulsed signal structure powerful parametric array in shallow sea are presented. It is shown that the parametric array excites much more narrow mode spectrum in comparison with a common monopole source. Theoretical interpretation of the experimental data is demonstrated to be in good agreement with the experiment. The conclusion is made that the field tests with a ship powerful array demonstrate a possibility of sound parametric application array for investigation of far propagation of acoustic waves in the ocean. It is shown too that by means of parametric arrays it is possible to shape such narrow directional patterns which are not achievable by other methods.
