Abstract

A significant problem preventing some moldshops from becoming more profitable is the difficulty in maintaining order and managing production. Typically there is no coherent system in place to ensure that all necessary tasks are performed on-time, making it easier for schedules to slip as new jobs are taken on by the shop. A software system has been designed which provides a means of quickly documenting jobs, producing high-quality, consistent workorders for each mold component, and effectively managing the production of those components. The overall architecture, together with the advantages of such a system, is presented.
