Abstract
Regenerative engineering can be described as the future of tissue engineering that aims to regenerate complex tissues and organs by utilizing principles of advanced materials science, developmental biology, and stem cell research. This chapter provides the reader with an overview of regenerative engineering including the clinical need, different strategies, and various application areas for regenerative engineering. The key elements of regenerative engineering are also discussed briefly.
