Abstract

Two new Keggin unit supported transition metal complexes, [Ni(2,2'- bipy)3]1.5[PW12O40Ni(2,2'-bipy)2(H20)] · 0.5H2O 1 and [Co(1,10'- phen)3]1.5[PMo12O40Co(1,10',-phen)2(H2O)] · 0.5H2O 2, are synthesized by a hydrothermal method; complex 1 is characterized by X-ray crystallography, showing that the [Ni(2,2'-bipy)2(H2O)]2+ units are covalently bonded to the α-Keggin cluster [PW(v)2-W(VI)10O40]5-.
