Abstract
The salient features of a two dimensional flow and solute transport model in partially saturated soils are presented. A Galerkin finite element approach for the numerical solution of the equations is described. A laboratory study aimed to collect data on two dimensional movement of a conservative tracer for calibration and verification of the numerical model is presented and a method used for measuring the solute concentration time history is discussed.
