Abstract
In this article, component mode synthesis (CMS) is used to generate a model of a complex structure based on the finite element models of the component structures. By using CMS, each component structure finite element model may be run separately, and the component modes may be selected for the frequency range of interest to reduce the size of the model. A new technique is introduced to further reduce the size of the CMS model.
