Abstract
The compound N-(8-quinolyl)pyridine-2-carbox-amide was synthesized. The aminoquinoline-based ligand consisted of pyridine, amide and quinoline N atoms. The binding abilities of the ligand with the metal ions and DNA were analyzed. The X-ray crystallographic study was carried for the analysis of the bonds. The results showed that the bond lengths and angles were within the normal ranges.
