Abstract

Novel charge transfer complexes based on MCp₂ (M = Co or Ni) and dicyanodihydrofullerene [C₆₀(CN)₂] have been prepared and the charge transfer in them investigated by UV-NIR, EPR and other spectra. The dicyanodihydrofullerene was reduced to the monoanion in the compound CoCp₂·C₆₀(CN)₂·CS₂, which showed a characteristic NIR band at 1016 nm.
