Abstract
A method of nonlinear acoustic tomography is applied to measuring the space distribution of bubbles in a sea. The idea underlying the method consists in varying the velocity of propagation of a high-frequency sounding wave in the bubble medium under action of a powerful pump pulse from an explosive source. The time shifts of the sounding wave are calculated as functions of a nonlinear parameter and characteristics of the pump pulse. The relation between the cubic nonlinear parameter and the concentration of gas bubbles is found.
