Abstract
The paper reports a theoretical and experimental study into the nonlinear reverberation of a strong acoustic signal at the difference, sum, and double frequency in a bubble medium. Field measurements in the Baltic Sea have demonstrated the feasibility of observing the nonlinear reverberation of a signal from an underwater acoustic radiator in a bubble layer and of using the effect for bubble diagnostics.
