Abstract

The experimental system of polymer dissolution processes for chemical engineering laboratory was discussed. The glass (pyrex) bottle in which the dissolution experiments were to be carried out was heated electrically to control the temperature. Film theory of interfacial mass transfer was suggested to be used to model the dissolution process. It was observed that as the dissolution progresses the spherical sample does not retain its shape.
