Abstract

In this paper, we propose a reconfigurable intelligent surface grouping design index modulation multiple access (RIS-GD-IMMA) scheme. We present a dynamic multiple access approach that integrates constellation symbols with RIS spatial reflection patterns based on channel link strength. The key innovation lies in introducing a new method for transmitting information using RIS, in addition to traditional constellation symbol modulation. By dividing the RIS into spatial domains, each corresponding to a subset of sub-reflection patterns, we enable each user's information stream to be transmitted via the assigned reflection pattern. This design will further increase the number of accessing users and improve the transmission efficiency of the system without increasing the RF link.
