Abstract

A review is presented of some of the issues involved in establishing a research center and defining its goals viz-a-viz individual faculty goals. The organization and activities of the Center for Research in Information Systems (CRIS) at New York University are described. With this as background, the authors describe some of the research that has been conducted at CRIS and outline current projects and future research directions.
