Abstract

Ni nanowires with 30 nm and 200 nm in diameter were synthesized by electrodeposition using anodized aluminum nanotemplates as scaffolds. After synthesis, nanowires were assembled across ferromagnetic electrodes by magnetic fore interaction between nanowires and ferromagnetic electrodes. Simulation results indicated that a local magnetic field strength at the tip of electrodes can be increased by a factor of 2.5 by fabricating needle-type electrode compared to a standard rectangular-shape electrode. The resistance of the nanowire interconnect increased as the applied voltage was raised due to joule heating.
