Social capital and innovation - A synthesis and direction for research

Abstract

This paper carried an extensive review of existing empirical studies on the relationship between social capital and innovation. Empirical studies are grouped into different dimensions of social capital. Detailed analysis was carried out to identify consensus, discordances, and gaps in the social capital-innovation connection. Directions for future research are generated based on this review.
