Abstract

Only roughly ten ants were necessary to determine the absolute configuration of the long known alarm pheromone manicone, 1. Naturally occurring and rac‐1 were hydrogenated and compared to the optically active, synthetic compound by complexation chromatography. Compound 1 was shown to have the 6S configuration. (Figure Presented.)
