Abstract

In this paper we consider a cognitive radio overlay model applied to single channel, single radio wireless mesh network and investigate the performance and fairness. Specifically we challenge the nominal mesh capacity of O(1/n)and provide proof that under certain constraints total mesh capacity can approach O(1/2)with an average per node throughput of O(1/na)where n a is the number of data generating active nodes. We provide an analysis of overlay communication using dirty paper coding on the sequential transmissions in wireless mesh networks.
