Abstract

Krypton tagging velocimetry (KTV) is demonstrated in the Stevens Shock Tunnel to obtain streamwise and wall-normal velocity fluctuation profiles in high-speed flows over a hollowcylinder- flare test article. Krypton was used as the tagged tracer in shock-tunnel-generated high-speed air flow, excited by a 212.56 nm wavelength beam at 100 kHz. Velocity fluctuations are obtained and match DNS values with good agreement. Tagging velocimetry techniques are compared to other experimental velocimetry techniques.
