    Abstract

We present a visual analytics approach to explore how successful teams collaborate, attack, and accumulate objectives. We illustrate our contributions with the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena: League of Legends. We developed two visualizations: The first shows collaboration and attack interactions, and how the players' roles are relevant to comprehending these interactions and the accumulation of power (gold) in this context; The second visual illustrates the objectives reached and the game evolution in terms of targets, helping to identify patterns in the sequence of goals. The two visuals designs were produced for each match and were used to be compared in a sample of matches, leading to pattern detection of successful practices. This approach enriches the comprehension of teams' performance in a competition environment and the identification of successful practices in team competition.
